Rapport fra U21 EM i Sarajevo

I påsken spilte Martine og Borgar U21-EM. Høydepunktet ble Borgars kvartfinale i double sammen italienske Oyebode. Her følger en kort rapport fra mesterskapet fra coach Jaroslaw Lowicki.

Norwegian team had two players participating in the Championship:

Toftaker Martine and Haug Borgar. Both these players competed in individual and double categories. Only 56 best players from ranking in Europe were allowed to participate. In single class the system implemented was that to get to the best 16 phase (to get to main draw) each player had to pass through 2 group stages (in each stage and in each group there were 4 players). In each stage only the first two players in the group were promoted to the next stage. In double class system implemented was knockout. On continuation you will be presented with the results and some comments.

Haug Borgar (9 seeded number) single class.

1st group stage (second place in the group):

- Lost 3-4 to Colon Flavien (30) from France (Borgar was leading 3-1

in that match)

- Won 4-0 against Pejic Dario (55) from Bosnia and Hercegovina

- Won 4-0 against Pons Arnau (35) from Spain

2nd group stage (third place in the group):

- Got WO against Stumper Kay

- Lost 0-4 against Istrate Andrei Teodor (12) from Romania (that player finished in 3-4 place in the Championship)

- Lost 2-4 against Giovannetti Tommaso (18) from Italy

Borgar did not get to the main draw.

In double class Borgar was playing together with one player from Italy
