The NETU have decided the distribution of NETU Championships every year, all the way to 2040.
-
Youth championships will be held every year, normally summer
-
Senior championships will be held every second year (even years), normally autumn
-
Veterans championships will be held every second year (even years), normally spring
NETU Youth 2027 will be held in Birkerød (DEN), 11-13. June 2027. Birkerød is just 27 min away from Copenhagen C with the S-train, or 35-60 min in car from Kastrup, depending on traffic.
NETU Senior 2028 will be held in Sweden in September.
NETU Veterans 2028 will be held in Norway.
NETU Youth 2028 will be held in Latvia
The calender shows the preliminary plan from 2029-2040. The hosts will confirm the event 2 years before, or else there will be an open bid for the tournament.
Changes in format
We will test joint teams in the coming events. Countries with less than 1 million inhabitants can send joint teams to our championships. For the moment this will include Greenland, Iceland and Faroe Islands. This will be evaluated before the next congress in Sweden 2028.
We will even reduce the number of categories in Veterans to 40,50 and 60, but keep 5 years gaps further up (65, 70, 75 etc).
Training camps and side events
We are hoping to stage a training camp connected to the Youth championships already in Denmark. More news on this will follow.
There are even ideas for "side events" for coaches and umpires during the Senior event in Sweden in 2028.
